Stock and range of collection
The stock of the specialist library covers around 18,000 media, mostly academic standard works about pre- and early history, provincial, mediaeval and classical archaeology. Most room is taken up by the german-language editions of the largest find complexes,the most important European magazines and exhibitioncatalogues, in particular from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. The library supports the museum's central task: to dedicate itself to researching, presenting and transmitting the archaeology of the Rhine-Main Region and the cultures o f ancient Europe.
